Curbside Pickup and Delivery Are the New Normal Here in San Antonio as Restaurants Adjust to Covid-19 Related Mandates. These Nine San Antonio Restaurants Are Offering Delivery Services Throughout the Covid-19 Outbreak

Don’t let self-isolation keep you from your favorite food. These restaurants are prioritizing safety by following gathering restrictions and eliminating dine-in services but will continue to serve the San Antonio area by providing curbside pickup and delivery options for their meals while following health regulations.

Candy’s Old Fashion

This burger joint is a charming old-school diner with a perfect vintage flair, and their no-fuss American classic menu is as nostalgic as it is delicious. This casual diner is reminiscent of “the good old days.” Their juicy burgers come in eight variations: their jalapeno cheddar burger is perfect if you’re craving a little heat, and the chili cheeseburger may be messy, but it’s packed with flavor that you won’t be able to resist. Plus, you can’t go wrong with a classic old-fashioned hamburger or cheeseburger. If you’re not in the mood for a burger, their menu features other American favorites, such as chicken-fried steak or fried chicken, pork chops, and fried catfish. Ordering online is made easy with a direct link on their website so that you can enjoy a Candy’s Old Fashion burger anytime.

Mencius Gourmet Hunan Restaurant

Since 1988, this restaurant has been serving San Antonio and, despite the current hardships, they are continuing to bring Hunanese food to our community. Located on Fredericksburg Road, Mencius Gourmet Hunan Restaurant has one of the largest selections of Chinese cuisine in the city. Their menu is overflowing with delicious dishes such as honey walnut chicken, scallops with black bean sauce, and pan-fried pork dumplings. Vegetarians will love their vegetable egg foo young and eggplant in garlic sauce. Their house-favorite Chef Specials include dishes like lamb Hunan-style, crispy duck, and Mencius shrimp served with a lychee sauce. All of their entrées are free of MSG, so when you order from Mencius you can rest easy knowing you are eating a high-quality meal.

Tong’s Thai Restaurant

By serving popular dishes from the Chiang Mai region of Thailand in the northeastern portion of the country, Tong’s Thai Restaurant has brought a taste of freshly made Asian cuisine to San Antonio. Order your favorite menu items like tom kha kai soup and pad see ew to-go for curbside pickup or delivery. Try their haw mok, a specialty dish with fresh seafood like mussels and squid in a spicy red curry, or opt for a familiar favorite like pad thai. Tong’s was one of the first restaurants in San Antonio to serve bubble tea, a milk tea served with flavored boba that has been popular in Asia for decades, and they have unique flavors like banana split and Saturday morning, which is made with taro root, strawberries, and banana. Although we miss dining outside at Nong Garden, it’s nice to still be able to enjoy the Thai cuisine Tong’s is famous for during these times.

Willie’s Grill & Icehouse

In this difficult season, this San Antonio classic and self-proclaimed “Crawfish Capital of Texas” is still dishing up surf and turf for you to take home. Order three, four, or five pounds of boiled crawfish to take home with their To Geaux Boil, which comes packed with fresh corn, mushrooms, potatoes, onions, and sausage. Other menu favorites include their shrimp po’ boy, icehouse tacos, and baby back ribs. After dinner, try their Willie Wonka dessert, a triple chocolate brownie topped with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and chopped pecans, or keep it simple with a serving of bourbon bread pudding.
