Top 5 Christmas Destinations for 2025

From lights on the River Walk to European charm, I’ve rounded up five Christmas destinations guaranteed to make this year’s celebration unforgettable.

It’s that time of year again, the Christmas planning season. Not too early, not too late, just right. If you’re starting to wonder where to go this year, I get it. Deciding between staying home and taking a trip can be tough.

So, to make things easier, I’m sharing a few of my favorite Christmas destinations that you and your family can enjoy this holiday season.

1. San Antonio, Texas. If you’re staying close to home, San Antonio shines during Christmas. The River Walk glows with lights and activities, and nearby Boerne’s Dickens on Main adds even more festive fun. You don’t have to go far to feel the holiday spirit.

2. Florence, Italy. If you’re craving travel, Florence is one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s full of art, history, and food, and at Christmas, the whole city lights up. There’s even an ice-skating rink that makes it feel magical.

3. San Miguel de Allende, México. A beautiful, historic city in Mexico with a strong sense of community. Around Christmas, the city center comes alive with music, color, and a vibrant atmosphere. Most people speak English, and the rooftop terraces offer incredible views both day and night.

4. Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of my favorite cities for the holidays. It blends Native American art, jewelry, and Christmas charm perfectly. Stroll down Canyon Road, lined with galleries and carolers, it’s the ideal place for a cozy, cultural Christmas experience.

5. St. Augustine, Florida. If you want sand instead of snow, St. Augustine is the place to be. The Nights of Lights celebration turns the city into a glowing wonderland for more than a month. You can take a sunset cruise, explore the old town, and celebrate Christmas in flip-flops.

No matter where you spend Christmas, at home or halfway around the world, the best part is creating memories with the people you love. Whether it’s twinkling lights, warm beaches, or snowy streets, there’s a perfect place for everyone to feel the holiday magic.
